We are on the threshold of 2019 monsoon.
Humidity should start rising by 1st week of June.
LEDs televisions & Microwave Ovens are affected by moisture & dampness.
Some of the common problems faced during rains are :
1) Lines on LED panels. 
2) Picture blanks out completely or partially.
3) Power supply switches off – set goes off.
4) Set being damaged beyond repairs due to lightening.
A little caution practiced by you can avoid unnecessary expense.
a) Cover the set with a thick cloth – preferably turkish material, during monsoon. 
b) Use the set as much as possible. 
c) Get your televisions tropicalised – most effective and long lasting solution.
d) During the lightening phase disconnect the television from the cable and the mains plug.

IT IS VACATION TIME
DURING YOUR ABSENCE MAKE SURE THE YOUR TELEVISIONS ARE SWITCHED ON.
AT LEAST 1 HR DAILY. THIS WILL AVOID MOISTURE ACCUMULATION.
IF IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SWITCH ON THE SET DURING YOUR VACATION,
COVER THE TV SETS WITH A CLOTH BEFORE LEAVING.
THIS WILL AVOID ANY MOISTURE RELATED FAULT THAT YOU MIGHT ENCOUNTER ON YOUR RETURN.

ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT FAILURES PEAK DURING MONSOON
You can protect your equipment (and wallet) by taking precautions as follows:
- Cover your equipment – TELEVISION, AUDIO EQUIPMENT ETC. – with a thick cloth material.
- Use your equipment at least 2 hours a day, this will keep the set dry. Even if you do not wish to watch just leave it “ON” for minimum 2 hours to expel moisture during monsoon.
- If your set is going to be idle for prolonged period like say 3 days or more, wrap it up in a thick cloth.
- During the lightening phase of monsoon remove the cable connection from your set top box. Lightening enters your set from the cable. IMPORTANT
- Due to high humidity levels permanent lines OR bar can appear on panels of PLASMAs, LEDs & LCD.

30TH AUG, 2017 : Like 26/7/2005, 29/8/2017, has found itself in the hall of fame.
There has also been a deluge of electronic equipment failure – especially
televisions and microwave ovens. There have been water logged sets,
sparking problems, humidity affected panels, high voltage inverters failing,
lightening affected sets.
15TH July, 2017 : Whew!!!! It’s been a hectic start to July, panels developing lines and bars due
to rising moisture in the air. In the last unseasonal lightening phase,
many sets got “electrocuted” beyond repairs.
Also please do not try any “DO-IT-YOURSELF” with connections etc.,
if the “earthing” in your premises is not proper
there is a chance of electric shock.
22nd June, 2017 : Humidity high, despite rains playing truant, leading to an avalanche
of repair calls and lines and bands on panels.
Cover your set and use it as much as possible.
15th June, 2017 : Last night’s lightening has left many areas of Mumbai in cable blackout.
We have received calls of many television sets affected directly by lightening.
On the safe side, switch off all your equipment from the mains switch during
flashes and also do the same before going to sleep.
12th June 2017 : It is 11:41 am and already there is a huge flow of repair calls, could be attributed
to Sunday being a holiday and customers returning from holidays.
Keep your equipment in use and warm to keep it dry.
10th JUNE 2017 Already LED, PLASMA, LCD Panel failures have started with the slight rise in
humidity – Cover your televisions. Heavier showers expected in the next few
days.
Also ensure a dry environment for your Microwave Ovens.
7TH JUNE 2017 : Mumbai got its first showers at about 5 pm.
